Hubby & I went here for dinner on the way to see Nantucket. Sandwiches were huge & delicious. Service was a little slow but the entertainment was a high!! LOL we had a drunk chick come up to our table & start chatting away. I was trying to get eye contact with my hubby lol to save me. She was hitting on me yikes!! Told me she wanted to be cool like me when she got older. Kept hugging me & touching me?? Hee heee told me to meet her there the next Tuesday night!! LOL I think NOT!В В В В В В В В В В В В В В

This is far the best place to eat!! I’ve tried many of their pitas & subs & have never been dissapointed!! My Dad turned me on to them when he used to deliver pitas to them from the Arnold thrift store. Edwin the owner used to save me 2 gallonВ glass jars for storage use.My Dad is no longer with us, but the memories still are!! Next time I go I’ll have a grilled cheese & bacon pita in his memory that was his favorite!

Oh this place was a lot of fun!! We went on a Friday night, they were getting ready for One Tree Hill cast party. There was a mixed crowd, lots of excitement happening. Hubby had their special a Manhattan sliced beef, mashed potato’s & onion gravy it was huge!! I had a swiss mushroom burger yummm cooked to order!!

Best home fried chicken breast I’ve had in a long time!! Burgers are too well done for me. They changed their menu awhile back & added more mexican fare. I haven’t tried any of that, I soo love the chicken!!

My husband love’s their country ham. You get a full slice, most place’s give only half a slice!

Their waitstaff is alway’s changing but have a few that are alway’s there.

I had the pleasure of going here for my 50th birthday. Yumm I loved everything about it!! Service was excellent, food was even better!! I had a sampler to try everything!! Was too much food to eat in one sitting. Had all the courses included. My husband was not as thrilled as I. He’s not a seafood or sushi lover. Ha ha he tried to eat with “sticks” I laughed myself silly with that! I would go back in a heatbeat!!! Price was reasonable too!

Best Breakfast in Wilmington (So Far)

When you pull up to a place and have to park a in neighboring parking lots because the place is packed, AND this is NOT during tourist season, you know you are in for a treat.

Sweet and Savory qualifies as the best breakfast in Wilmington so far, and one of the best ever. They have a full service bakery, so if you are up for bread and pastries, they can serve that need. A variety of home made breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and lots of sinful goodies is available for eat in or take home.

I started out ordering a bear claw pastry. Truth be told, the only bear claws I had ever eaten were those nasty things at convenience stores (I haven’t actually purchased one in over a decade). I was so intrigued with the look I had to try one. It was NOTHING like that partially hydrogenated, fluffy flour stuff at quick marts. The dough was almost as flaky as middle eastern filo dough…light and fluffy. The pastry was sweet, but not ridiculously rich. I never thought I would say this, but I found an outstanding bear claw.

Alright, enough drooling. The bear claw was good, but it gets better. Their special was prime rib benedict. What the heck is that, you ask? Why, I will be happy to tell you. Its a prime rib steak served with poached fried eggs and a REAL hollandaise sauce on it. The steak was great, but the hollandaise sauce was extraordinary. Not a super rich sauce like some restaurants serve; light yet full of flavor (at least light in taste…probably had 3 days of calories in it, but damn, it tasted light!)

Came with a side of fresh fruit, fried potatoes, and lots of juice and tea. (They had coffee of course, but I prefer tea).

Their menu has lots of lunch and dinner items…I will definitely be back to try those as well. This place ROCKS!

Don’t let the long lines scare you off.В They have a LOT of seating, and their service was good, so people move in and out quickly.В Do mind the parking…some places near there will tow if you aren’t in the right spot at the right time. They have signs up that tell you “Park here before 5 pm, park here after 5 pm, etc.”

Roudabush is No More - Alas

Well, Roudabush closed its doors.В Rumor has it the sushi place upstairs is expanding and taking over the space.В This is unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected.В They did a good lunch business, but weekends, normally a strong point for most restaurants, were weak.В We really liked their Saturday and Sunday brunch, oh well
We went there after waffles one Saturday and found the place shutdown.В Since the kids were psyched for waffles, we HAD to find another place that served them.В (Kids are SO dramatic…their entire weekend would have been ruined had they not found a waffle according to them)В We experimented with K&W cafeteria across from the mall (see review).
